Police search homes of people helping domestic violence victims


On January 13, security forces searched the homes of the “Radzislau” representatives, reports the HRC “Viasna.” It is a shelter for women victims of domestic violence.

According to human rights activists, four searches were carried out in the homes of women representatives or their relatives.

Two activists were detained. Darya Tsaryk, the director of “Genome,” which helps people with rare genetic diseases, and a board member of the organization “Radzislau” were sentenced to eight days of arrest after the search.

Also, the activist and manager of “Radzislau” Volha Harbunova, who was detained on November 9 as part of the criminal case, had her stay in custody prolonged.
