European Parliament mulls sanctions against Belarusian judges

Vice-President of the European Parliament Nicola Beer declared for the introduction of sanctions against the Belarusian judges, Radio Liberty reports.

“The personal sanctions, imposed on members of security agencies, are not enough. We need to extend them to representatives of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies, supporters of Lukashenka,” said Ms Beer, speaking at the online conference “Solidarity with Belarus” on Saturday.

She added that European countries “have to find a balance between pressure and engagement with the Belarusian authorities.
