Lukashenka wants opposition-minded students out of universities

Lukashenka also said that calls for a strike are coming from Poland and Lithuania.

Today Lukashenka held a meeting on the preparation of the 1st All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. In particular, he said that Belarus is beginning to face terrorist threats. He also demanded the dismissal of the protesting students, teachers, professors, civil servants, doctors.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has demanded that students from universities who took part in protests be expelled. He offered to send them to the Belarusian army. In addition, he accused the protesters of terrorism.

He considers it senseless to persuade them.

Belarus faces terrorist threats, announced Lukashenka, who holds the post of President of Belarus. He spoke at a meeting on the preparation of the sixth All-Belarusian People’s Assembly and said that the so-called protestors crossed the red line. According to him, the protesters became radicalized and launched “not an information war, but a terrorist war” against the authorities.

“The next stage is radicalization. It is happening. It is no longer an information war, but a terrorist war against us in separate areas. We must stop this,” Lukashenka said.

Lukashenka called for the exclusion of students from universities who participate in protests. They, according to the politician, must either be sent to the army or simply thrown out into the street. Lukashenka wants to do the same with opposition-minded teachers.

“Students, if you come to study, study. Whoever wants, let them study. Whoever went out in violation of the law for unauthorized actions must be deprived of the right to be a student. Please send them, as I said, some to the army and some to the street. Let them walk down the street. But they must be expelled from the university,” Lukashenka said

Mass protests against the results of the presidential elections, which took place on August 9, have been going on for three months in Belarus. Lukashenka was declared the winner, the opposition did not recognize the results of the elections and considers them falsified demanding the release of political prisoners and the new elections.
