Astravets NPP builder: construction supervisors stealing cement, superiors stealing budget money

For obvious reasons, the belsat.eu source asked not to publish his name.

Previously, concrete cube cost a million, and now only 16,000 rubles

– I’m working as steel fixer at Belenergabud. Since the New Year, I have been sitting in the pit, making reinforcement, working with concrete and putting up the formwork. I have been working hard for them.

– What is your salary?

– It’s a joke, I don’t even want to mention it. Three million rubles. Earlier, I was paid a proper sum, could even get 10 mil, and now I get almost nothing.

– And how many days you work per month?

– We work ini shifts – we used to work for 15 days then stay another 15 at home. And now we have all new contracts having us work for 20 days in a month. Well, because they see that there is no output, and we are behind the schedule. But it’s no wonder. Who wants to work hard for this money? Every day I have to bind 500 kg of fittings. You can try as hard as you can, but you wouldn’t do it. They introduced crazy working norms to pay less. Previously, for aconcrete cube I received a million, and now only 16,000 rubles. That’s crazy.

Our superiors are stealing from the budget as best they can

[vc_single_image image=”1″ img_size=”large”]

– Are there poeple who earn good money?

– Friends and relatives… You understand? And the most interesting thing is that the superiors steal like crazy. One got caught and is now on trial.

– What did he steal?

– Both the blocks and cement – anything he could. It is an awful picture. Our superiors are stealing money form the budget as best they can.

– Do many people leave the jobs?

– A lot. A year ago, 6,000 people worked here. Now the figure is about 4,000. I would have left, too, but they wouldn’t let me go. They say, there is no one to work. I don’t want to break the contract, and this is not an option to just turn around and leave, I do not want to get fired. Where would I go? A porter vacancy has 32 people applying for it. There is no work in the city. I tried to hand in my notice, but the foreman covers his ass and writes ‘read and understood.’ After all, if he endorses it, he will have problems.

Every third person working in the construction is Ukrainian

[vc_single_image image=”3″ img_size=”large”]

– Did you try complaining?

– About whom? We wrote complaints to the General Prosecutor’s Office, local bureaucrats, and Lukashenka’s administration. IT’s all useless. It was all fine, until the conflict in Ukraine started. By the way, almost every third person working at the construction site is from Ukraine. They came recently. For them, three million rubles is a lot of money.

– You have a big family?

– Wife and two sons. The eldest is 27, and he manages on his own, and the youngest is studying. You understand, I need to give him some extra money to eat and money to get a travelling pass.

– What does your wife do?

– She transports goods and gets peanuts, 2.5 million, a living wage. How can you live on this money?

He signed a law on social parasites and at the same time is laying off people. Isn’t that idiotic?

[vc_single_image image=”5″ img_size=”large”]

– Who do you think is to blame for the falling wages?

– He signed a law on social parasites and at the same time is laying off people. Isn’t that idiotic? It is indeed. He is, of course, a normal president and keeps the discipline, but this is not the way to do it… And the parliament, why are they sitting there? If I were Lukashenka, I would give the deputies a salary of Belarusian laborers. That’s when they would start thinking with their head. Rent is rising, all the prices are rising, workers suffer. Do I have to go now to the hut to live?

If you do not understand shit, do not meddle in politics

– And who is more to blame, MPs or Lukashenka?

– If you do not understand shit, do not meddle in politics.

– And in the presidential election, who will you vote for?

My dear, we are slaves, and we think like slaves.

[vc_single_image image=”7″ img_size=”large”]

– He will rule until Kolya takes over. So much for the elections (laughs). And to be serious, whom to choose from? What if some idiot comes to power and does the same shit as in Ukraine? Lukashenka would not let it happen. If you elect a dickhead like Poroshenko in Belarus, the blood will flow. I served in Afghanistan. I know what fear and death are. In short, I am for discipline.

– So you are for the discipline and you pay getting a living wage…

– I’m for discipline and a decent income.

– As you can see, neither you nor your wife have it.

– Lukashenka would give it, but people simply don’t ask for it.

– But why?

– Apparently, we a are patient people. My dear, we are slaves, and we think like slaves, and the salary we have is the one for slaves. The servants, as I know, are very silent creatures.
