Separatists shot down a Mi-24 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force in Luhansk region on August, 20. Its crewmembers were killed, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) reports.
“On August 20, near the village of Heorhiyivka, Lutuhyne district, Luhansk region, terrorists shot down a Mi-24 helicopter that fulfilled a combat task. The crewmembers were killed,” Ukrinform quotes NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko as saying.
As a search and rescue operation was in progress, the accident was not reported about before.
