‘It should be noted that the election campaign was conducted in an unprecedented tough and tense situation. Unfortunately, some citizens were not involved into the election process.
At the same time, Ukrainian society has demonstrated a high level of civil consciousness and determination to start moving towards national consent, stability inside the country, sustainable economic and political development,’ the statement by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
The Belarusian officials expressed hope that the elections would become an important step forward in the efforts to restore mutual understanding, to normalize situation in the country, to build a comprehensive power hierarchy in Ukraine.
Belarus respects the choice of the Ukrainian people and is ready for further constructive cooperation with its neighbour, the MFA’s press office stressed.
