Pre-election debates on Belsat TV: Tax should be imposed on officials for poor work


A special tax should be imposed on officials who make poor decisions and introduce inefficient solutions, an MP candidate said during the election debates televised by our channel.

“I believe that now the government should take responsibility for their mistakes, their inefficient solutions. It is necessary to impose a tax on public servants: you made a half-baked decision? Pay taxes to the budget! You voiced a stupid proposal – pay taxes to the budget! Then, the state will be able to pay out foreign loans using these budget funds. […] Do not misuse budget money and you will not have to look for additional ways of boosting the state coffers!” Volha Kavalkova, a Christian Democracy party candidate in the parliamentary elections-2016, says.

Opposition candidates Viktar Mikhalchyk (the Left Party ‘Fair World’), Alyaksei Yanukevich (the Belarusian People’s Front) and Marat Afanasyeu (the United Civic Party) also took place in the debates.
