New fire near Chernobyl


Second fire in recent months has started in the zone near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Dry grass and reeds have caught fire near the Chernobyl Forest farm on June 29.  This was reported by the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine. The total area of ​​the fire was about 130 hectares.

As of 10.30 on June 30, the fire was stopped from spreading, Espreso.tv reports with reference to the emergency situations service.

The previous fire in the zone of alienation began at the end of April. Its area was estimated at 320 hectares, BBC reports. There were fears that the fire could reach the nuclear power plant, but in the end it was distinguished.
