Lukashenka proposes not to promise people anything extra during election campaign

The head of Belarus said that on July 20 during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Uladzimir Andreichanka in Minsk.

“During the presidential elections, everyone promises a lot, but the elected person will have to fulfil them,” belta.by quoted Lukashenka.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka believes that members of the parliament should join the presidential elections. “Deputies are experienced, politically active people, it is necessary that they explain to their voters some difficult moments or suggestions of our opponents,” Mr Lukashenka said in an interview with the Chairman of the lower chamber of parliament.

The Belarusian leader stressed that Belarusians are not one of those people who can be fooled by pre-election promises.

“It is impossible, like people say, to draw the wool over somebody’s eyes, but, nevertheless, some will try,” said Mr Lukashenka.
