Kremlin prefers Brazilian pork to Ukrainian salo?

Due to the ban on Ukrainian and Western food products, salo (cured pork fat) – a staple of Ukrainian cuisine – may become an outlandish delicacy in Russia. Literally.

Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev informed  Russians about such scenario.

“Ukraine does not deliver salo to Russia, but exports fresh-frozen pork. And the part of this country in the total amount of supplies of pork to our market is suddenly about 4 percent. it may safely be said that such amount can be supplied by domestic manufacturers or other countries – Brazil, China or Chile ” Russian newspaper ‘Rossiyskaya Gazeta’ quotes the minister as saying.
