The videos of the first rehearsals of some contestants who arrived in Kyiv have been posted on the Eurovision official website.
“The Belarusian duo NAVI just finished their first rehearsal on the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest stage,” the press service says.
Belarusian band NAVI won the national selection and will represent Belarus at the international TV contest “Eurovision-2017”. The NAVI band with the song Story of My Life was the only band that sang in Belarusian at the competition. Thanks to this, a song in Belarusian will be performed at the Eurovision in Kyiv for the first time in history.
Eurovision 2017 is to be held in Kyiv, Ukraine on 9, 11 (semifinals) and 13 May (final). Last year Eurovision Song Contest took place in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. Russia’s Sergei Lazarev with the song You Are The Only One was the odds-on favourite of the show. But it was his tough competitor, Ukrainian singer Jamala who became the winner with the song 1944 dedicated to the tragedy of Crimean Tatars deported by Stalinists.
