Uladzimir Zinouski boasted on the ONT TV channel positive dynamics in the “all sectors, except construction.”
However, according to the Economy Minister, in some areas of the Belarusian economy salary does not match the overall performance.
“We mustn’t aimlessly spend all the money we earn. We must, by investing in production, get more income for the earnings to grow,” Zinouski advised.
He also noted that the salary of $ 500 will not be available to all Belarusians.
“It will not be available in all regions and in all sectors of the economy, because we need to understand that it is the average salary in the country, and there are some sectors of the economy, such as agriculture or the social sphere, where it is impossible to achieve such earnings instantly,” said the Minister.
In August, Alyaksandr Lukashenka instructed his staff to “pull the enterprises with low salaries to the level of 1,000 BYN”. The Belarusian leader admitted that the 2018 salary could rise to 1,500 BYN. Now the average salary in the country is 844 BYN.
