The Croatian soccer team located in the Vyborgsky district of the Leningrad Region during the World Cup, was denied bicycles for training.
According to the Russian “47news”, at the end of last week managers of the Croatian national football team, which is located in the sanatorium “Lesnaya Rapsodiya” in the village of Il’ichevo, were asked to provide their team with 30 bicycles for training. At the interdepartmental meeting, chaired by the FSB officer, it was decided to give Croats only two bicycles.
“47news” was told it was not about money saving. The reason for the refusal is the difficulty of ensuring safety of 30 sportsmen riding bicycles. If they were accompanied by police, the latter could simply not keep up with the athletes.
In general, the Croatian national team is guarded at the highest level.
Instead of bicycles Croats were offered at full access to a pool that is easy to control. Managers of the Balkan team rejected the offer of the pool and two bicycles.
