Russian President Vladimir Putin sang the Russian anthem after delivering a speech at the celebration of the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.
“The country is proud of you! Happy holiday!” Putin congratulated the crowd, korrespondent.net reports.
According to the official information, the turnout reached 110,000 persons.
Independent Russian media said on Wednesday that public employees and students were en masse forced to take part in the rally. A lot of people were paid for their participation.
