Bialowieza Forest, behind a wall of censorship

Visa-free travel for visitors to the Bialowieza Forest was to demonstrate good will and openness of our country. However, it turned out that among the tourists there are “undesirable people.” A journalist of Radio Racyja, Radoslaw Dombrowski, was told that he was not allowed to enter Belarus.

“The border guard, apparently, felt uncomfortable, he could not answer the question and asked me why I cannot enter the Republic of Belarus, because their system told him that I could not do it. Of course, I could not answer that question. For me it was a bit strange. However, one and a half years ago I was also refused a visa. And when I asked about the reasons for refusal, I was told that they do not have such information and offered to contact the nearest consulate or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus,” said Radoslaw Dombrowski.

Under the new rules, foreigners without a visa can stay in the Bialowieza Forest for up to 3 days. You can take advantage of a visa-free regime only at the checkpoint Pererov-Bialowieza. The reason for this is a document that allows a foreign citizen the right to visit a national park.

Radoslaw Dombrowski intends to apply to the Belarusian diplomatic authorities with a request to explain the reason for the prohibition of entry into the territory of Belarus.
