Belarusians to pay for filing 'unfounded' complaints

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has approved the amendments to the Law “On citizens and legal entities.”

The amendments provide for the possibility to fine the people who systematically appeal to various authorities with unfounded complaints.

“The law specifies the costs which may be recovered from the applicant, if they regularly file baseless complaints. Among them are the amounts payable to experts, postage costs and costs associated with on-site review of the complaint,” reported the press service of the Belarusian leader.

According to the updated law, all appeals or complaints will be dealt with within 5 working days from the day of the filing.
