Belarus Supreme Court sheds light on dismissal of four judges


The Supreme Court has commented on the incident connected with the decree of the President of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka which was immediately followed four employees of the Economic Court of Minsk losing their jobs.

On July 7, 2015 Chairman of the Minsk Economic Court Ihar Zhdanovich, his deputy Syarhei Kulakouski as well as two judges – Aleh Klyuiko and Andrei Rybalkin- were released from their jobs.

Then the official explanation of the reasons for this decision was “actions incompatible with the high rank of judge,” telegraf.by reports.

Now, the Supreme Court has explained that during the check at the Minsk Economic Court, there were uncovered incidents involving the judges of them being in contact with the representatives of the conflicting parties before making a decision in court in favor of their personal interests.

The investigation board came to a conclusion that further stay of these persons in their posts was impossible.

Details and circumstances of the misconduct of the above-mentioned persons were not made public by the Supreme Court of Belarus.

According to the presidential Decree 299, Yury Kabets has been appointed new judge and Chairman of the Minsk Economic Court.
