The Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian exporter of defense products Rosoboronexport signed a contract for the delivery of five air defense missile units Tor-M2K to Belarus in 2016, state-run news agency BelTA reports.
The air defense units Tor-M2K are supposed to be delivered to Belarus in 2016.
The delivery of the ‘state-of-the-art’ air defense systems will ‘improve capabilities of the Belarusian air defense system’ and air defense capabilities of the Union State of Belarus and Russia as a whole, Rosoboronexport head Anatoly Isaykin said.
The Defense Ministry is also about to buy four combat training aircraft Yak-130 from Russian corporation Irkut.
The contracts were signed at the international aviation and space salon MAKS 2015 which is taking place in Zhukovsky, Moscow region on August, 25-30.
