Belsat TV is running a new campaign “Solidarity with the political prisoners in Belarus”. More than 30 well-known people from Belarus, Poland and other countries will appear in short video clips, stating their message to the Belorussian prisoners of conscience. Today’s clip features Adam Michnik, the editor in chieff of Gazeta Wyborcza, dissident imprisoned during Soviet period in Poland.

He is addressing Mikita Likhavid, a 20-year old activist of the Movement for Freedom, who was arrested during the December 19th demonstration, charged with active participation in riots and sentenced to three and a half years in a high-security prison camp. Mikita, for his steadfast demeanor in prison, has been sent to a solitary confinement cell four times this month.

Also, the audience and supporters of Belsat TV can join the campaign by sending their own clips with words of support for the Belorussian prisoners of conscience to salidarnasc@belsat.eu
