The independent information resource Reform. by has been blocked under the decision of the Ministry of Information.
When we tried to access the site in Belarus, we saw a notice saying that access to the information resource is restricted based on the decision of the Ministry of Information, passed under the law “On Mass Media.” There is no access via VPN either.
Reform. by reports in its Telegram channel that the editorial office has not yet received an official notification from the Ministry of Information. The editorial board considers the blocking of the site an act of censorship, while the decision of the Ministry of Information — a violation of the Constitution:
Our project had operated in full compliance with the Belarusian legislation, the company was officially registered, the site was hosted on a server in Belarus, we started the process of registering the site as an Internet media outlet.
The project creators have promised that the project will soon continue to work on an alternative hosting site.
Access to more than 100 websites has been blocked in Belarus since August 2020.
