French Foreign Minister: Putin promised to put pressure on Lukashenka


French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that Vladimir Putin had promised Emmanuel Macron to help resolve the migration crisis, inspired by Lukashenka’s regime, Reuters reports.

“Russia should put pressure on Belarus,” Jean-Yves Le Drian recently told the TV channel LCI.

According to the minister, during a recent phone conversation, Vladimir Putin promised Emmanuel Macron that he would intervene and put pressure on official Minsk to stop the migration crisis. Now the Russian president must fulfill his promises.

French President Emmanuel Macron held telephone talks with President Vladimir Putin on November 15. On the same day, Angela Merkel spoke by phone with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
