The suspense of the elecion vote count is a sign of a democratic state. It happens when both the voters and the the last voice fighters are waiting or election results with their clenched fists. But this is not about Belarus. For 20 years Belarusians have learned that they should not expect surprises. Even opponents of the head of state know how the election will end. However, it is necessary to watch the hands of the authorities. This can only be done through election observation.

Opposition structures have signed an agreement to jointly observe the presidential campaign this year.

Guest of the Two on Two program, Alyaksandr Silkou from the the campaign Right to Choose, every presidential campaign authorities have set themselves a goal – to have the election recognized.

The authorities find new ways of falsification to hide the fact of falsification, he adds.

“Belarus has an archaic way of vote counting, and we are the only country in the region where there is a secret vote count, like a special operation,” said Uladzimir Labkovich, coordinator of the campaign Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections.
