Kindergarten in Pinsk: 200 persons evacuated over WWII live ammo

A German 81 mm mortar shell was found in the grounds of a kindergarten in the Belarusian town of Pinsk (Brest region). It turns out to have been brought there with soil for flowerbeds.

Before security services and an operational investigative group arrived, the kindergarten had been cordoned off. 168 children and 46 employees of the institution were evacuated. A dangerous finding was taken away and neutralized by mine pickers.
