About 20 people on horseback made an attempt to burst their way to Belarus from Ukraine. Belarusian border officers opened fire.
The incident happened overnight into Tuesday in the area controlled by Pinsk border detachment (Kobryn region).
“In response to frontier intruders’ aggressive actions towards border officers who stand in their way service guns were used,” Belarus’ State Border Committee reports. There might be injured perons among the tresspassers, the press service adds.
Belarusian border officers and their Ukrainian colleagues have opened an investigation over the incident. A criminal case may be initiated soon.
