Morbid pictures to appear on cigarettes in Belarus

Starting from spring, cigarette packs in all the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will remind smokers of all the diseases linked to smoking with text and pictures.

Scary images will appear on cigarette packs in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union on March 17, 2017 – it is stipulated by the technical regulation of the EAEC.

It requires each of the five Union countries to place warnings about the dangers of tobacco products in the form of images of human bodies affected by dangerous diseases and names of these diseases — from cancer and gangrene to periodontal disease.

The document stipulates that the illustrations are made in the most unpleasant, according to scientists, color — dirty brown.

Authors of the idea of using scary images (which, incidentally, have long been used around the world) are convinced that the innovation will reduce the number of smokers and preserve the health of millions of people.
