The recent Minsk agreement is nothing but Putin’s hypocrisy, Romuald Szeremietiew, Poland’s then acting Defense Minister says. The politician has expressed confidence that Russia craves for restoring its influence in Europe.
“Russia wants to attack Poland so that the empire could be restored. Russia declares the empire will comprise territories from Vladivostok to Lisbon. To establish such entity it has [potential] partners in the West, in Germany, France, Spain and Italy. But in the middle of Europe there is such ‘sore’ as Poland that keeps close to the USA for some reason, feels sympathetic to Ukraine and refuses to surrender to Russia. What is to be done to establish the entity? To cut the sore off,” Romuald Szeremietiew told tvn24.pl.
The expert was critical of the Minsk agreement. In his opinion, it was clear that pro-Russia forces were not going to implement it.
