According to the OSCE special monitoring mission (OSCE SMM) in Ukraine, 45 civilians have been killed in Donbas since the beginning of the year. This was announced by vice-chairman of the OSCE SMM Alexander Hug in Vienna, DW reports.
According to him, 216 more civilians were injured during this time.
“The number of civilian casualties has increased by 110 percent compared to the same period last year,” said Alexander Hug.
He added that the civilians in Donbas were killed by shelling on the demarcation line, which is still there despite the Minsk agreement.
The SMM notes an increase in the number of ceasefire violations in Donetsk and Luhansk region in recent days, damage to civilian facilities, and the use of artillery and multiple launch rocket systems at the demarcation line.
