Novel of Belarusian writer Viktar Martsinovich to be made into film

It will be based on the novel “Lake of Joy” and directed by Alyaksey Paluyan with Belarusian origin who has lived and worked in Germany.

Viktar Martsinovich wrote about the film on “Facebook”:

“We met with Alex in 2016, I watched his works right before that and they struck me with artistic perfection and the absence of birth defects inherent to the Belarusian cinema of the household welfare era. We signed the papers and talked over the key moments of the film. The film is in the format suitable for short film festivals. You will learn about the budget, the cameraman and the equipment, which Alex will bring from Germany, from him. We selected only a part of the story, which tells of the Yas’ childhood, some details of the novel have been changed, the action moved to the Belarusian village…”

The writer does not exclude that the movie will feature the music of Syarhei Douhush that is seen by Viktar as “a real treasure of modern Belarus, worthy of popularization abroad.”

The writer himself will appear in one of the episodes, he was invited to the set on October 16th.
