Not all parents with small children will receive state aid

The authorities have decided to expand the list of citizens who will receive non-cash housing subsidies. They will appear in pay slips as early as this autumn.

The aid will be provided to citizens who raise children up to three years old, look after disabled persons under the age of 18, a group or a person who has reached the age of 80 and who receives assistance from employment and social protection bodies.

Above mentioned citizens will not need to collect documents. Assistance will be provided on the basis of data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Lukashenka signed Decree No. 322 “On Provision of Non-cash Housing Subsidies” in 2016.

Until now, subsidies have been allocated on the basis of revealing and declarative principles to pensioners, disabled people and low-income citizens. From January 1, 2019 aid will not be given to “social parasites” — able-bodied but not employed in the economy. At the same time, members of their families who live with them have the right to receive subsidies.

The decree comes into force on August 1.
