Belarus Information Ministry restricts access to Russian nationalistic site 'Sputnik & Pogrom'

Ministry of Information has limited access to the information resource “Sputnik and Pogrom”.

The reason for this was the decision of the Tsentralny district court of Minsk which recognized the information published at sputnikipogrom.com as extremist. Inforation about the access restriction is published on the ministry’s homepage.

The court’s decision was made taking into account the expert opinion of the ‘Republican Expert Commission On Evaluation Of Information For The Signs Of Extremism’.

A number of articles published at sputnikipogrom.com contain signs of extremism in some of the information aimed at inciting national enmity or hatred, propaganda of superiority or unconformity on the basis of people’s ethnic or linguistic background, as well as violent change of the constitutional system of the Republic of Belarus.

‘Sputnik & Pogrom’ is positioned as an information resource of Russian nationalists. This online project supports the separatist formation of the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
