‘Fulfilling agreements’. Lukashenka meets with Putin in Moscow

Belarusian president Alyaksandr Lukashenka has arrived in Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

During the meeting the presidents are expected to discuss the most pressing issues of the Belarusian-Russian relations, issues of political cooperation, the development of the integration process, the situation in the region and in the world, the press service of the Belarusian leader reports.

In addition, Putin and Lukashenka will take part in the solemn on the occasion of the 70th anniversary Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka announced his visit to Moscow at the press conference for Russian journalists on November, 17. During the conference, by the way, the Belarusian leader did not make offhanded comments about Russia – he might have been unwilling to sour relations in the run-up of the meeting,” political commentator Vitaly Tsyhankou told Belsat TV.

At the same time, Alyaksandr Lukashenka gingerly criticized Russia.

“Vladimir Putin and I will sit down together and discuss some key questions. I am not saying ‘conceptual’ – we’ve already agreed on all main issues. The only thing to do is to fulfil our agreements. The reciprocal claims do exist, but we will have a one-on-one conversation, calmly discuss these issues and come to terms,” he said on Thursday.
