Fourteen freight train cars derail near Minsk


The accident occurred near the Kalyadzichy village of the Minsk rayon.

Fourteen freight train cars derailed near Minsk, BelTA learned from the regional administration of the Belarus Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The information about the emergency came in the afternoon of June 25. Derailed were 14 cars of a freight train Minsk-Kalinkavichi-Sartavalny near Kalyadzichy village in the Minsk rayon. The train had 73 cars. The accident saw 12 freight cars overturned: 6 – with metal, 2 – with wood, 1 – with fuel briquettes, 2 – with mixed fodder and 1 – with bottles of sunflower oil.

Over 200 meters of railway track and the 27kw contact line were damaged. No one was injured. There was no delay in the train movement. The consequences have been eliminated by 3 emergency recovery trains of the Belarusian Railways. Work is expected to finish on the morning of June 28th. The cause of the accident will be established by a commission of the Belarusian Railways.
