European partners have been given information on the investigation into the White Legion case, Belarus Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey said when speaking at the international conference 25 Years of Belarus’ Foreign Policy.
According to the minister, the Belarusian side provided the full and up-to-date information on the subject to the Europeans. Uladzimir Makey did not comment on the criminal case as, in his opinion, it was up to other departments.
About 30 persons – former members of the defunct sports and patriotic organization White Legion, state-authorized sports and military club Patriot, Young Front activists as well as people who are not associated with any organizations, landed up in jail after Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s words about ‘armed militants’ posing a threat to Belarus.
Seventeen people are still in pre-trial detention, including sixteen persons allegedly linked to the organization White Legion, and activist of the Social Democratic Party Syarhei Kuntsevich.
