Dzmitry Paliyenka detained in Minsk and sentenced to 15 days in prison

On March 20th, the activist came to the detention center in Akrestsina to pass a package. The man walked into the building and never came back. He is now in the court of Zavadski district of Minsk.

Judge Vera Halaukova found the activist guilty under Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code for participating in the defense of Kurapaty on February 25 and sentenced him to 15 days in prison.

Human rights defenders of the “Viasna” believe that it was a preventive detention and is linked with the rally scheduled for March 25.

On March 10th, Dzmitry Paliyenka was arrested for 7 days for shouting “Shame” after the verdict was announced in the so-called “case of the anti-fascists”. They did it in disagreement with the judge’s decision regarding the penalty for the defendants in the case. The activist was arrested and convicted. On March 17th, he left the Center for Isolation of Delinquents.
