Criminal case may be opened against Russian singer: Revenge for solidarity with Ukraine?

The reason for such action is the singer’s support of Ukraine.

A resident of Rostov has decided to take Zemfira to court for her behaviour at the concert in 2013 (!). Provoked by cries of an indequate spectator, she publicly used strong language. Later the singer apologized, but it is not enough for the patriot from Rostov who reported to the police about the two-year-old incident.

It is the man’s deep outrage over Zemfira’s choice at her recent performance in Georgia that may have led to such decision. During the concert in Tbilisi the singer picked up the Ukrainian flag which a Kyiv fan was passing to her and started waving it. This act caused an uproar in Russian media and social networks. A lot of Russian celebrities and show business figures also condemned Zemfira for her solidarity with Ukraine.

The prominent rock singer has repeatedly spoken out against the Kremlin’s aggression in Donbas performing the songs of Ukrainian band ‘Okean Elzy’ and making statements to the media.

Now the police in Rostov is examining what she really did during the concert in 2013. It is noteworthy that a bully who tried to disrupt the event has never been found, and now the singer herself is facing a punishment.
