A building wall has collapsed killing one and injuring another child in an abandoned building in Mahiliou. The surviving child is currently in critical condition.
He had a massive bleeding and had to be operated on. The operation lasted 6 hours and involved surgeons from Mahiliou, as well as medical experts three national research centers, TUT.BY learned Ihar Kasko, chief doctor of the Mahiliou regional children’s hospital.
The child received a severe combined injury: deep hypothermia and massive skeletal injury.
The tragedy took place in Mahilliou on November 1st. The unfinished private house suddenly collapsed, leaving two boys of 9 and 10 years under the rubble. One of them died on the spot.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for manslaughter.They detained a 42-year-old resident of Mahiliou, who in 2008-2010 was illegally building the house which collapsed on the boys.
