Blast in St.Petersburg metro: 10 persons dead


 

Blasts in St.Petersburg.

At least 10 people have been killed in Monday’s explosion in St.Petersburg subway.

According to preliminary reports, ten people were killed by the blast inside a metro train at Sennaya Square and Technology University stations in St. Petersburg.

An unidentified device exploded in a train car, Russian news agency TASS reports with reference to own sources. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is currently in the city, has been already informed.

Today the Russian leader is meeting with Belarusian president Alyaksandr Lukashenka in Strelna near St.Petersburg. According to him, all causes, including terrorism, are being investigated.

“I have already spoken to the head of our special services, they are working to ascertain the cause,” Putin said.

About 50 people are injured, Russia’s National Antiterrorist Committee reports.

Evacuation is under way at a blast-hit metro station.
