Belsat Valer Mazynski was awarded the “For Freedom of Thought” prize.
Valer Mazynski has shot 6 films for Belsat: “Searching For Lightning,” “Hlybokaye Conspiracy,” “Paluta Badunova. Remember And Not Forget,””Locals,””I Choose Motherland,””Kalinouski. Last Days”.
The ceremony took place in the Bychki village of the Ushachy rayon near the Vasil Bykau house-museum.
The event was traditionally organized by the “Movement For Freedom” and Vitsebsk organization “Belarusian Language Society”. This year writer’s sister Valyantsina Bykava could not take part in the celebration. She is in intensive care of the Vitsebsk Regional Hospital.
The award “For Freedom of Thought” has existed since 2008. Over the years, its laureats were Ryhor Baradulin, Nil Hilevch, Uladzimir Arlou, Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, Pavel Sevyarynets, Ales Pushkin, Ales Marachkin, Ada Raychonak, Ales Belakoz, Lyavon Volski, Zmitser Vaitsyushkevich, Viktar Shalkevich.
