Belarus contacts Google for user data only once

Google did not satisfy the request.

Google has published data on countries applying for their users information: this year Belarus has filed only one request, which dealt with five accounts. It was not satisfied.

Over the same period, Google received 237 requests for 328 accounts from Russia (information was given on 7%), from Ukraine – 6 for 9 accounts (7% satisfied), from Poland – 497 for 891 account (34% responses).

The record holder is the United States, where authorities contacted the company 14,168 times, Google granted 79% of the requests. In just six months, the corporation received 44,943 inquiries and shared data in 64% of cases.

“We check the legitimacy of each request. In some cases, we refuse to disclose information about our users or provide data to a limited extent,” said Google.

To get information about a user from Google, the state has to submit a statutory document: summons, order or a search warrant.

Depending on the document, the company may disclose to the authorities the registration data of the user, login time to your account and the IP-address from which the entry was carried out, as well as the content of the email messages.
