The incident occurred near the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk after the hearing of the lawsuit filed by historian Ihar Kuznetsou over protection of honor, dignity and business reputation against the CPB, the newspaper “Communist of Belarus. Us and time” and author Andrei Lazutkin.
Heorhiy Atamanau, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, who is also an assistant to the House of Representatives MP, attacked Barys Haretski, press secretary of the NGO “Belarusian Association of Journalists”.
After the trial, the press-secretary of the Belarusian Association of Journalists was trying to take pictures of the defendants on the street next to the building of the court.
Assistant deputy came up to Haretski, swung and knocked the mobile phone out of his hands. Haretski’s phone fell to the ground.
After the incident Barys Haretski filed a written statement with the police department of Leninski district of Minsk.
