On April 29, Alyaksandr Lukashenka held a meeting on the development of agriculture, his press service reports.

On April 29, Lukashenka discussed agriculture development with government members, chairpersons of regional executive committees, and law enforcement representatives. Lukashenka was primarily interested in what hampered the “dynamic development of agriculture.” He also touched upon the issue of funding the agro-industrial complex:

“Don’t even ask for money. You have the money. God help us solve the problems and implement the plans we wanted. We can’t send a lot of money where it should be earned and from where it should go to the budget,” said Lukashenka.

As of February 1, 2021, Belarus’s large and medium agricultural enterprises accumulated over 15 billion BYN in loans. This is a new record of agrarians’ debts. The previous one was set for September 1, 2020.
