The Human Rights Center “Viasna” published statistics on politically motivated administrative prosecution in 2021.

This is the story of Dzmitryy Lukomski and Vyaleta Mayshuk, members of the “The Country to Live in” group. They campaigned for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya during election campaign in Belarus. They were forced to leave Belarus due to persecution.

On January 27th, Volha Takarchuk was tried under Article 23.34 for letting balloons out of her own window. Volha’s husband Dzmitry went to the detention center to pick her up, but she didn’t come out.

Anatol Astrouski, a resident of Pastavy (Vitsebsk region), has spent five days without food in protest against lawlessness and his being kept behind bars.

Her detention was extended by 10 days

On Friday evening, dozens of participants in human chains, journalists and even bystanders were detained in Belarusian cities and towns.
