The Belarusian Information Ministry has added Belsat’s information products to the Republican List of Extremist Materials, as well as the name ‘Belsat’.

On Friday, the Belarusian portal TUT.BY has reported the Interior Ministry’s having claims against the company. The media outlet has been publishing its materials only on social media platforms after the Belarusian security services raided its offices and detained 15 employees in May.

According to Minsk Regional Expert Commission for the Evaluation of Information Products, Belarusian National Idea, a book by journalist Zmitser Lukashuk and philosopher Maxim Goryunov, has ‘signs of demonstrating extremism’.

Later, two Vitsebsk media outlets were added to this list.
