Salihorsk enterprises given signature quota

Collection of signatures in enterprises is typically done by in-house ideologues who had been previously included by the local authorities into nominating groups of Alyaksandr Lukashenka. For example, every signature collector at Salihorskhandl had to collect the 13 sheets of signatures, that is 208. To do this, all employees were told bring their passports to work.

On the other hand, at the street pickets collecting signatures for Lukashenka, people are not even asked for passports. It was found that voters who do not carry a passport around, and such is an absolute majority, can leave their signatures without submitting it. The required data from passports will be later collected by the authorities in the ‘passport office.’

According to human rights activists, this kind of use of administrative resources is a flagrant violation of the electoral law and puts other candidates for presidency in an absolutely unequal conditions.
