Baretsky visited a store in St.Petersburg and asked a seller to show him Russia-made phones, but it turned out that the store did not sell them. Then he threw the gadget offered by the shop assistand down and squelched it.

“This action is not against the usage of [foreign] gadgets. I just wanted to show that we should produce our own gadgets and resurrect electronics plants. It seems to me that manufacturing phones is elementary, we only have to purchase a technology. Why should we buy it [imported goods]? They cost a pretty penny,” Baretsky said and added that he had reimbursed all the damages to the store.

According to the musician, he keeps using an old Nokia.

“Generally speaking, Finns are our brothers [Nokia is a Finnish company]. Why should I download everything from iPhone and pay for it? We must steal their de sign, replace logos as the Chinese do! I am often blamed for driving a BMW, but soon I’ll burn it and buy a Zhiguli. I mean it!” the radical musician promises.
