Belarusian border guards have detained far from Brest, at night, a Polish citizen who illegally entered Belarus for a job search.

“On the night of August 12, officers at the Brest frontier post received an alarm signal. Teams of vorder guards set out in armed vehicles to check the situation,” describes the night occurence the press officer of the State Border Committee.

On site, security officers noticed marks on the plowed land that separates Poland and Belarus. Traces were not, however, leading to the west, as usually happens, but in the opposite direction. A few minutes later the state border guards arrested a fugitive from Poland. He had on him some food, the Polish identity card, a bank card and 63 zlotys (about $16.5).

If not once, then twice

It turned out that it was the second time that the 35-year-old unemployed man was trying to illegally sneak into Belarus, where he hoped to get a job as a builder. The first time he was detained by border guards in May, after which he was deported to Poland with an official warning about a  one year ban on entry to Belarus. This time, the man can be accused of illegally crossing the border again within one year.

In an inflatable boat across Bug

This is not the first such case when the citizens of the European Union tried to illegally cross the border of Belarus. In March, the border guards were patroling the banks of the Bug when they ran into a citizen of Slovenia, who together with his son was swimming across the border river in an inflatable boat. the refugee, who after being detained applied for political asylum, was transporting to the Belarusian side €5 thousand, GPS-navigator and a desktop computer with a monitor. On the Polish side, she left the car of the brand Citroën.
