Moscow could use large-scale military exercise in Belarus to house several thousand soldiers, Estonian defense minister said in an interview to Reuters.

Recall that in September 2017, Moscow and Minsk are to hold military maneuvers which, according to some NATO experts, can involve up to 100,000 soldiers.

According to Defense Minister Margus Tsahkna (pictured), Estonia and other NATO countries have reason to fear that after the “Zapad-2017” drill Russian army can stay in Belarus.

“For the Russian soldiers, who are sent to Belarus, it is a one way ticket,” shared his opinion the Estonian Minister.

“This is not my personal opinion. We have been carefully analyzing how Russia is preparing for the exercises,” he added.

The Belarusian leader earlier called such predictions groundless and said that no one is going to leave the Russian soldiers in Belarus after the exercise.
