'No need for that, they should just work, and everything will be fine'

Disgruntled Chinese workers from Dobrush reached Homiel in a column. They were planning to reach Minsk on foot to meet with the Chinese ambassador.

Workers from China, working on the construction of a new block of the paper mill complex, said that they had not been paid three months.

About 200 workers reached Homiel. They were going to take a train to Minsk, but decided to get to the capital on foot. About 70 of them set out towards Minsk. They were not particularly organized.

The correspondent of Belsat asked Homiel citizens what they thought about the actions of the guest workers.

“There is no need for that, they just need to work, and everything will be fine,” said a woman.

But some residents of Homiel noted the “cohesion” of the Chinese workers.

Eventually, though, according to Nasha Niva, the protest mood weakened, and the Chinese workers took the bus to go back to Dobrush.
