BY_Help: Internet community raising funds for people detained during Freedom Day and in case of 'militant camp'
The fundraising campaign after the mass arrests was launched by Andrei Strizhak, an independent trade unions’ activist, one of the solidarity protest organizers. Later, to the list of those serving a sentence for the non-parasite march were added the people detained in the case of the “militant camp” and those grabbed during the Freedom Day.
About 10 thousand dollars have already been collected with the help of people who care for detainees and their families. The campaign continues. The geography of donors is widening, the Belarusian diaspora is raising funds worldwide.
A special Facebook group was set up to coordinate the BY_help for the repressed in Belarus, where you can find all the information you need — where you can transfer money to or through whom it can be done.
Now, the community organizers are looking for opportunities for direct donations to the families of detainees, not to use the BY_help bank details.
Volunteers are also looking for people in France, Spain, and Sweden, who could be centers of resource accumulation.
