Belarusian who fought for Donbas separatists tortured, killed in Russia

Belarusian citizen Uladzimir Yastrabau, who fought for separatists, was killed in Donbas, Ukrainian media reported on Monday.

But in fact, he was killed in February 2016 in Russia. The man was 29 years old. His murder seems to be of criminal nature.

At the beginning of 2016, Yastrabau left the so-called Donetsk republic for Russia’s Tver.

“He was in a scout crew of the Batman battalion. Suddenly he was arrested and sent to prison for some violation. As the separatist republic’s prison is a real dungeon, he was literally put in the hole! Somehow he managed to get away and come to Tver. And in February, he was found dead in a rented apartment, his body had signs of torture,” Yastrabau’s friend told Belsat.eu.

According to him, the murder might be linked to the separatist armed forces’ money issues.

Belarusian citizens fight on the both sides in Donbas. Except for Yastrabau, Syarhei Stsebikhau, Andrey Mokich, Vadzim Vasilevski are on the list of the killed Belarusian who helped pro-Russian militants.
